Economists tip Brazilian GDP to grow 1.94 pct in 2018

The average forecast of Brazilian economic growth this year given by economists polled each week by the Brazilian central bank is now 1.94 percent, Xinhua reports.

The Chinese government-run news agency says that last week the economists had forecast growth in gross domestic product of 2.18 percent.

The report says the economists now forecast that the annual rate of consumer price inflation will be 3.82 percent this year, having forecast last week that it would be 3.65 percent.

They forecast that inflation next year will be 4.07 percent, having forecast last week that it would be 4.01 percent.

The economists expect US$1 to be worth 3.5 reais at the end of this year, Xinhua says.
