Chinese Ambassador to São Tomé e Príncipe Wang Wei has described work on expanding the airport there and building housing for civil servants as “moving along”, STP-Press reports.
The São Tomé e Príncipe state-run news agency quotes Mr Wang as telling an event marking a national celebration in China that São Tomé e Príncipe Prime Minister Patrice Trovoada’s visit to Beijing this month was helpful.
Mr Wang said Chinese-financed repairs of roads and drains in São Tomé e Príncipe would be completed this year.
He expressed hope that parliamentary elections in São Tomé e Príncipe next month would be peaceful, fair and successful, STP-Press says.
