Exhibition of Chinese, Portuguese art opens in Shanghai

An exhibition of nearly 100 works of modern art by 12 Chinese or Portuguese artists has opened in Shanghai, Xinhua reports.

The Chinese government-run news agency says the Fosun Foundation arranged the exhibition to contribute to the Chinese Belt and Road initiative.

The report says the exhibition is the first in China to illustrate and contrast the schools of thought behind the development of modern art in China and Portugal.

Works by Joana Vasconcelos, Rui Moreira, Liu Jianhua, Shi Yong and others are on display.

The exhibition will run until August 26, Xinhua says.
