FDI flow into the Mainland steady throughout first third of the year

Foreign direct investment in Mainland China fell to 59.91 billion yuan (US$8.73 billion) in April, 4.3 percent less than a year earlier, Xinhua reports.

The Government-run news agency, citing Ministry of Commerce data, says last month’s sum brought FDI in the first four months of this year to 286.41 billion yuan or 0.1 percent less than in the equivalent period last year.

The report quotes a representative of the ministry saying FDI was “generally stable”.

The Ministry of Commerce data indicate that 3,343 new foreign-funded enterprises were established in the Mainland last month, 42.7 percent more than a year earlier, Xinhua says.
