Foreign investment in Angola reached US$16bln in 2014-15

Foreign investment in Angola totalled US$16 billion in 2014-15, said Angola’s Agency for Investment and Export Promotion (APIEX).

It means Angola ranked second among African nations for such investment in that period, reported the online media outlet Macauhub.

Carvalho Neto, the investment agency’s Director, was quoted saying Angola was “committed to creating a solid business base, which allows national entrepreneurs to compete on an equal footing in other markets”.

APIEX is a new body set up by the Angolan Government to replace the National Private Investments Agency. The new body was created to promote and attract investments to Angola, and raise awareness of the economic potential and image of the African country, the report said.
