In sign of deepening relationship, China-Angola ties poised to move into culture

China and Angola should strengthen their cultural co-operation and exchanges, the Angolan news agency Angop reports.

China’s Ambassador to Angola, Cui Aimin, made the remarks on in Luanda on Tuesday at a meeting with Minister of Culture Carolina Cerqueira.

Bilateral relations should go beyond infrastructure and focus on cultural exchanges to develop the heritage of both countries, Mr Cui was reported as saying.

Organising festivals and support in establishing cultural institutions might be potential areas of collaboration, and Mainland writers could visit to better understand Angola.

Ms Cerqueira was quoted as saying that exchanges involving choreography, cooking and museums might also take place.
