Institutions of higher education agree to co-operate

Over 70 institutions of higher education in China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries have agreed to co-operate in innovative and creative endeavours, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency says an agreement was signed in Macao at a conference of heads of the higher education institutions.

The report says the purpose is to increase trade among emerging markets, to increase collaboration in putting the Chinese Belt and Road initiative into effect and to promote Macao as a place for cultural exchanges.

The Macao Tertiary Education Services Office, the University of Macao and the University of Saint Joseph jointly put on the conference to enhance communication and exchanges among institutions of higher education in China and the lusophone world.
