Lawmakers approve Sino-Angolan double taxation agreement

Angolan legislators have approved unanimously a Sino-Angolan agreement to end double taxation and prevent tax evasion, Angop reports.

The Angolan news agency says the legislature has also ratified similar Angolan agreements with Portugal and the United Arab Emirates.

The report quotes Angolan Secretary of State for Cooperation Domingos Vieira as saying the agreements will help increase direct investment, infrastructure construction and job creation in Angola, and the transfer of knowledge and skills to the country.

The agreements will strengthen Angolan economic ties with China, Portugal and the United Arab Emirates, Angop quotes Mr Vieira as saying.

The Sino-Angolan agreement on double taxation was among the results of Angolan President João Lourenço’s visit to China last October, Angop reported at the time.
