Leong Vai Tac says Central Government can help Macao stage events to spur business

The Macao Secretary for Economy and Finance, Leong Vai Tac, who is also a Macao deputy in the Chinese National People’s Congress, has said the Central Government can help Macao put on exhibitions meant to generate business between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries, the Macao Daily News reports.

Lionel Leong Vai Tac was quoted speaking on the sidelines of the annual National People’s Congress in Beijing.

Mr Leong said the city could stage meetings and exhibitions about food, other agricultural products and minerals, with the specific purpose of generating business between Mainland China and individual Portuguese-speaking Countries.

The Central Government could help Macao and its neighbours, such as Hengqin Island, jointly put on events meant to generate business between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries, Mr Leong was quoted as saying.
