Macao academics forge links with Mozambican counterparts

University of Macao Rector Song Yonghua has led a party of his colleagues on a visit to universities in Mozambique, to make arrangements for academic exchanges and collaboration in research, the university says.

The University of Macao says in a written statement that the university and the Pedagogical University of Mozambique struck an agreement on swapping students and teachers, and on drawing up joint programmes for teaching and research.

One purpose is to increase co-operation in training people to work in Portuguese language.

The visitors attended a conference on collaboration in higher education among Mozambique, Mainland China and Macao.

It is important for lusophone universities to collaborate, to spur innovation and to apply the knowledge they possess, the University of Macao quotes Mr Song as telling the conference.
