The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) has announced that representatives of Macao and Mainland Chinese companies signed three deals in a meeting in Shanghai meant to promote Macao as a place where China and the Portuguese-speaking world can conduct business.
IPIM issued a written statement saying the meeting was part of the China International Import Expo, and focused on young entrepreneurs, financial services and ties between business groups in China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries.
The statement says about 90 Macao businesspeople are attending the expo, taking part in business-matching and investment advice sessions.
IPIM has one pavilion at the expo to promote food and another to promote financial services, and 39 Macao companies have booths in them, IPIM says.
The Macao Government Tourism Office says in another written statement that its own booth accommodates representatives of eight Macao enterprises, including hotels, an airline and ferry operators.
