Macao painter founds international art group

Macao painter Ieong Tai Meng has founded the Association of Artists of China, Macao and the Portuguese-speaking Countries to facilitate exchanges in the fields of the arts and culture, Plataforma Macao reports.

The newspaper quotes Mr Ieong as saying the association could help Mainland Chinese and Macao artists visit the Portuguese-speaking Countries, and help artists from the lusophone world, in particular lusophone countries in Africa, to penetrate the Chinese market.

The report says the association means to hold exhibitions in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the first being an exhibition in Guangzhou showing works by artists in the Portuguese-speaking Countries.

“We hope to open doors for artists in the Portuguese-speaking Countries, who could have chances to take part in exchanges between our association and Mainland China,” Plataforma Macao quotes Mr Ieong as saying.
