Macao Polytechnic Institute and Jiangsu collaborate on teaching Portuguese

The Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government will co-operate to teach Portuguese to workers involved in trade, investment, education, agriculture, tourism and fisheries.

A statement released by the by Macao Government Information Bureau said the agreement would help both organisations seize opportunities stemming from the “Belt and Road” initiative and develop the relationship between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries.

MPI President Lei Heong Iok said a Jiangsu’s higher education sector had developed rapidly, and nurturing talent and exploring co-operation with the Portuguese-speaking Countries has made the province a leader nationwide.
