Macao, Portuguese funds agree on scientific, technological co-operation

The heads of the Macao Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT) and the Portuguese Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) have signed a co-operation agreement, the FDCT says.

The Macao fund says FDCT president Ma Chi Ngai and FCT president Paulo Ferrão signed the agreement in Portugal last week.

The FDCT says the two entities will work together to co-finance research and organise academic conferences with the view of increasing co-operation and exchanges in science and technology, in innovation by universities and research institutions, and between researchers.

Mr Ma led a delegation that visited Portugal from February 22 to 27 and paid calls on the Chinese Embassy in Portugal, on the Portuguese Ministry of Technology and Higher Education, and on several universities and research institutions, the FDCT says.
