Macao to host second show of art from China, lusophone world

The second annual exhibition of art from around China and the Portuguese-speaking world will open in Macao in July, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency, citing Macao Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Alexis Tam as its source, says art from Mainland China, Macao and lusophone countries will be shown at several venues, including the Macao Museum of Art.

The report says artists, curators, academics and other authorities on art will contribute to events such as demonstrations, lectures and workshops.

The exhibition forms part of Art Macao, a five-month-long, €1.8 million (US$2 million) international arts festival, which will include the display at the Taipa Houses Museum of a work by Macao artist Wong Ka Long which was inspired by Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa.
