Young entrepreneurs in Macao hope to do business with Portugal in fields including wine and real estate, Jornal Tribuna de Macau reports.
The newspaper says a 22-strong delegation from the Young Macanese Association and the Macao Young Entrepreneurs Association completed on Sunday a visit to Portugal during which they sought business and investment opportunities.
The report quotes Young Macanese Association President Jorge Neto Valente as saying the visit was “very productive”.
Mr Valente said the visit, arranged by the AICEP Portugal Global trade and investment agency, had included visits to entities engaged in the fields of food and drink, banking and new technology in the cities of Oporto, Coimbra and Lisbon.
He said contact was made with people in the wine and real estate businesses, industries which are easily accessible to young entrepreneurs from Macao.
Last week Macao Chief Executive Chui Sai On visited Portugal, where he and Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs Augusto Santos Silva jointly presided at a meeting of the Macao-Portugal Joint Committee.
