Macau, Brazil’s São Paulo sign MOU on investment

The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and Investe São Paulo – Investment Promotion Agency in that Brazilian city have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) aimed at enhancing bilateral ties.

The MOU was signed this week, in São Paulo. IPIM is leading a Macau delegation to the South American country.

IPIM’s President, Jackson Chang, said – as quoted in the institute’s press release – there is much room for co-operation between the two entities because Brazil is a Portuguese-speaking Country and Macau is acting as a platform between China and those nations.

Mr Chang added he hoped IPIM’s visit to São Paulo and talks with the city’s investment promotion team could contribute to deepening mutual understanding and economic, trade and investment co-operation between Mainland China, Brazil and Macau.

Mr Chang also invited Investe São Paulo to take part in the 21st edition of the Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF), which will be held in Macau in October. The two sides hope that a co-operation protocol could be signed at the event.
