Macau promotes itself as place to do international business

Representatives of the Macau SAR Government have visited the neighbouring province of Guangdong to promote the financial services Macau offers Chinese enterprises that do business with the Portuguese-speaking world, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) says.

IPIM issued a written statement saying the officials visited the cities of Guangzhou and Jiangmen last week to raise awareness among businesspeople there of the opportunities for business with the Portuguese-speaking Countries.

The institute says some businesspeople expressed interest in food produced in the Portuguese-speaking world, and some in how to get money from the China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Co-operation and Development Fund.

Macau officials will do more such promotional work in the Guangdong cities of Zhuhai and Zhongshan this month, IPIM says.
