Mainland China is the leading buyer of Angolan exports in 2Q16

Angola’s biggest export market in the second quarter of last year was Mainland China, Portuguese news agency Lusa reports.

Angola’s exports were worth 432.5 billion kwanzas (US$2.61 billion) in the second quarter or the equivalent of 35 percent of Angola’s exports in that period, Lusa reports, citing data from Angola’s National Statistics Institute.

Exports to the Mainland in the second quarter were down nearly 1 percent from the first quarter last year, and dropped by 12.1 percent from the same period in 2015.

Angola’s next biggest export markets were The Bahamas, with a 13.8-percent share of exports, and India, with a 6.4-percent share.
