A further 134 items that originate from Macao and are destined for export to Mainland China will be exempted from tariffs starting on July 1, the Macao Economic Services said in a statement on Friday.
The new items enjoying a zero-tariff rating under the framework of the Mainland and Macao Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) include food, textiles, printing materials and writing pens, state-run news agency Xinhua quoted the Macao Government as saying.
According to the official statement, products made of raw materials from Portuguese-speaking Countries would be regarded as of Macao origin, the report added.
Since the implementation of CEPA in 2004 the value of exports from Macao to the mainland enjoying zero tariffs has totalled MOP707 million (US$88.47 million).
