Mainland China was the biggest buyer of Angolan exports and the second-biggest source of Angolan imports in the fourth quarter of last year, Portugal’s Lusa news agency reports.
The report cites data from the Angolan National Statistics Institute which says exports to China, mainly oil, were worth about €4.18 billion (US$4.54 billion) in the fourth quarter, an 83.3-percent increase in year-on-year terms.
About 58.9 percent of Angola’s exports in the October-December period went to the Mainland.
Imports to Angola were worth €365.6 million in the fourth quarter, the equivalent of about 12.8 percent Angola’s imports. Portugal was the biggest source of Angolan imports, accounting for about 19.1 percent.
