Official says Portugal aims to serve Chinese tourists better

A Portuguese tourism official has said his country intends to find out more about what Chinese visitors want with a view to making their visits better, the China Daily reports.

The Chinese newspaper quotes Filipe Silva, a member of the board of Turismo de Portugal, as saying so at ITB China, a business-to-business exhibition held in Shanghai, which focuses on the Chinese market for travel.

The report says about 260,000 Chinese visited Portugal last year, 40 percent more than the year before.

Turismo de Portugal brought representatives of 17 entities in the Portuguese tourism business to ITB China, the China Daily says.
