Participants in trade cooperation seminar for Forum Macao member states – organised by China’s Ministry of Commerce – visit Macao

The participants in a seminar on trade and economic cooperation targeting representatives from the member states of Forum Macao, visited Macao from June 6 to 10. The seminar was organised by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and its Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO).

A total of 18 officials from Portuguese-speaking Countries – namely Angola, Mozambique, Portugal, and São Tomé and Principe – took part in the visit.

The group attended the 9th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum held in Macao, as part of a delegation organised by the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao. The participants also visited the facilities of several bodies in Macao, including: the Monetary Authority of Macao; the Macao Economic Bureau; the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute; and the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao. In addition, they joined a cultural tour of the city.

The trip to Macao aimed to increase the participants’ knowledge about the city’s economic and social development, and about Macao’s role as a Service Platform for Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries. It aimed to boost cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries on trade and economic matters, in capacity production, and in other fields.
