Portugal among Europe’s top-tier destinations for Chinese investment

Portugal was the sixth biggest destination for Chinese investment in the European Union between 2010 and last year, El País reports.

The Spanish newspaper cites a study by the ESADE tertiary college that shows mainland investment in Portugal reached 6.6 billion euros (US$7.2 billion) in that period.

The biggest destinations for Chinese investment were Britain, Italy, France, Ireland and Germany, the newspaper reports.

Mainland investment in Europe last year was estimated at US$31.4 billion, 55 percent higher than in 2014, the report adds.
