Portuguese central bank tips economy to grow 2.3 pct in 2018

The Portuguese central bank still forecasts that the Portuguese economy will grow by 2.3 percent this year, Xinhua reports.

The Chinese government-run news agency says the growth forecast given in the latest quarterly economic bulletin issued by the central bank is the same as in the bulletin issued in June.

But the report says the bank has reduced its forecast of annual growth in exports to 5 percent from 5.5 percent and reduced its forecast of gross fixed capital formation.

The bank has increased its forecast of annual growth in private consumption to 2.4 percent from 2.2 percent.

It has cut its forecast of the unemployment rate to 7 percent from 7.2 percent, Lusa says.
