Official data indicate that the unemployment rate in Portugal fell to a revised 8.1 percent last November, the lowest since November 2004, Xinhua reports.
The Chinese state-run news agency, citing data given by the Portuguese National Statistics Institute, says the unemployment rate last October was 8.4 percent.
The report says the preliminary estimate for the jobless rate last month is 7.8 percent.
Xinhua quotes Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa as saying his government will follow policies to spur economic growth, investment and exports with a view to reducing unemployment further.
