Portuguese mission to inspect Chinese industrial development

Portuguese consultants Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação (SPI) will send a party of businesspeople to China next month to see how industry is developing there, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency says the SPI party will visit the eastern Chinese cities of Suzhou and Wuxi and the southern city of Shenzhen between 11 and 16 November.

The report says the mission is part of a European Commission programme arranged by SPI to help European technology companies in the Chinese market.

The purpose of the mission is to learn from Chinese plans to set up technology industries that add high value, such as the artificial intelligence, renewable energy, robotics and electric vehicle industries, and to introduce greater automation in manufacturing, Lusa says.
