Portuguese shoppers online for imports favour Chinese goods

Of the orders for goods from other countries that consumers in Portugal made online last year, 45 percent were for goods from China, Dinheiro Vivo reports.

The Portuguese news website says an International Post Corporation survey found 16 percent of the orders were for goods from Spain and 11 percent for goods from the United Kingdom.

The survey found 54 percent were for goods sold on the Chinese Alibaba or Aliexpress websites, and on the US eBay and Amazon websites.

Of the parcels containing goods from other countries that consumers in Portugal ordered online last year, 85 percent weighed 2 kg or less, Dinheiro Vivo says.
