São Tomé e Príncipe students preparing to study in China

A group of 35 São Tomé e Príncipe students will leave for China soon to study at universities there, STP-Press reports.

The São Tomé e Príncipe state-run news agency says Chinese Ambassador to São Tomé e Príncipe Wang Wei said at a ceremony held to bid the students farewell that he hoped they would return to their country to contribute to its development after studying in China.

The report says the students are due to arrive in China in the first week of September to study subjects such as medicine, civil engineering, business management, mathematics, information technology and law.

China offers about 50 scholarships to São Tomé e Príncipe students every year, STP-Press says.
