Shanghai import expo draws 96 Brazilian exhibitors

The Brazilian trade and investment promotion agency, Apex-Brasil, has arranged for 96 Brazilian companies to exhibit at the first China International Import Expo in Shanghai in November, the Economic Information Daily reports.

The publication, an arm of the Chinese government-run news agency, Xinhua, says 70 of the Brazilian exhibitors are in the food and drink business, and that the rest make other consumer goods or are in service businesses such as healthcare.

The report quotes Apex-Brasil President Roberto Jaguaribe as saying visitors to the expo will be drawn to the Brazilian exhibits.

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the municipal authorities in Shanghai are jointly putting on the expo.

The event begins on November 5 and ends on November 10, the Economic Information Daily says.
