Sino-Angolan trade in 2018 worth US$25.66 bln and counting

Chinese Ambassador to Angola Cui Aimin has put the value of Sino-Angolan trade in the first 11 months of last year at US$25.66 billion, or 21.1 percent more than in the corresponding period the year before, the Chinese Embassy in Luanda says.

The embassy issued a written statement quoting Mr Cui as saying a new stage in the development of the relationship between China and Angola began last year, the 35th year since they established diplomatic relations.

He said Sino-Angolan economic engagement maintained its momentum in the face of uncertainty about the global economy and economic hardship in Angola.

The ambassador expects Sino-Angolan co-operation to be closer and Sino-Angolan exchanges to increase this year, according to the Chinese Embassy statement.
