Super Bock Group creates special brew for Chinese market

Super Bock Group Chief Executive Rui Lopes Ferreira says the Portuguese brewer has created a type of beer meant exclusively for sale in China, his company’s biggest export market, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency quotes Mr Lopes Ferreira as saying during a visit to the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou: “Super Bock Gold was planned and produced specifically for the Chinese consumer.”

Mr Lopes Ferreira said slight differences in the recipes made Super Bock Gold “softer” than ordinary Super Bock beer.

He said the creation of the new brew showed how committed Super Bock Group is to growth in China, where the company made 10 per cent of its revenue in 2016, Lusa says.
