Portugal was among the countries represented at a symposium held in the Spanish city of Barcelona to promote Chinese traditional medicine in Europe, Guangdong-Macau Traditional Chinese Medicine Technology Industrial Park Development Co. Ltd says.
A written statement issued by the company says the symposium was attended by government officials, specialists, representatives of medical associations and representatives of manufacturers of medicines.
They came from Macao and Mainland China, and from Germany, Portugal, the Netherlands, and Spain, among other countries and regions.
The statement quotes Guangdong-Macau Traditional Chinese Medicine Technology Industrial Park President Lu Hong was as saying her company has made contact with people in the Portuguese-speaking Countries with a view to co-operating in making and selling traditional medicines.
Ms Lu and her colleagues later went to Brussels to visit a Belgian traditional Chinese medicine association and the China-Belgium Technology Centre, according to the company statement.
