To boost its global footprint, China Southern wants new routes to Brazil, Africa

China Southern Airlines Co. Ltd. wants to establish new Brazilian and African routes, the South China Morning Post reports. The Sunday edition of the Hong Kong newspaper says Asia’s biggest carrier in terms of passenger volume wants to further its global reach.

China Southern’s general manager of marketing, Wu Guoxiang, said the airline expects to have between three and five new routes to both South America and Africa within five years.

“We have a huge amount of domestic passengers, so we have the power and opportunity to launch new routes,” he said.
