Trade between China, Portuguese-speaking Countries nearly US$147.4 bln in 2018

Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$147.354 billion in the period from January to December 2018. It represented a 25.31percent increase year-on-year, according to data from China Customs.

Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$105.507billion to China in 2018, up by 30.24percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$41.848billion in the same period, an increase of 14.40percent year-on-year, according to Chinese official data.

The total value of merchandise traded in December between the parties topped US$12.373 billion, down 2.43percent from the previous month.

The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$8.837billion, down 6.69percent month-to-month, according to Chinese official data. China sold goods to those countries worth US$3.536billion in December, an increase of 10.12percent compared with November.
