University to hold conference on Sino-Portuguese relations

The Second International Congress of Portugal-China Intercultural Dialogue will open tomorrow at the University of Aveiro in central Portugal, and will end on Friday, the Terra Nova radio station reports.

The local broadcaster says the conference has been arranged by the Confucius Institute and other parts of the university.

The report says University of Aveiro Rector Paulo Jorge Ferreira, Chinese Ambassador to Portugal Cai Run and representatives of the International Institute of Macao will attend the opening.

It says the conference will discuss the Chinese Belt and Road initiative, literature, translation, teaching, culture, tourism and the arts.

The conference programme includes workshops on Chinese traditional medicine and Chinese martial arts, an open lecture and four exhibitions, Terra Nova says.
