World Bank raises forecasts of Cabo Verde economic growth

The World Bank now forecasts that gross domestic product in Cabo Verde will expand by 4.2 percent this year, having forecast in January expansion of 3.6 percent.

In the latest edition of its Global Economic Prospects, the World Bank forecasts that Cabo Verde GDP will grow at an annual rate of 4 percent next year and the year after, having forecast before growth of 3.8 percent in each of those years.

The World Bank now forecasts that the Angolan economy will grow by 1.7 percent this year, 2.2 percent in 2019 and 2.4 percent in 2020; that the Guinea-Bissau economy will grow by 5.1 percent this year, 5.2 percent in 2019 and 5.3 percent 2020; and that the Mozambican economy will grow by 3.3 percent this year, 3.4 percent in 2019 and 3.6 percent in 2020.

The bank makes no forecast for São Tomé e Príncipe.
