Macao, East Timor universities band together on meetings, exchanges

The City University of Macau and National University of East Timor will work together to arrange academic meetings and exchanges under a new memorandum of understanding, the Macao Daily News reports.

The pact was sealed last week during a visit by leaders at the City University of Macau to East Timor.

City University of Macau Rector Zhang Shu Guang and Chairman of the Council Chan Meng Kam led the delegation.

The agreement was a milestone for both universities, which could lead to organising academic meetings and events, as well as exchange students and staff, Mr Zhang says.

The pact was important to the development of the National University of East Timor, Rector Francisco Miguel Martins was quoted as saying.
