Angolan govt taps Chinese companies to rehabilitate railways  

The Angolan government will invest US$153.9 million in the rehabilitation of three railways, and is contracting Chinese companies to do the work, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency, quoting presidential announcements, says China Hyway Group Ltd will be paid US$56 million to rehabilitate 900km of the Moçâmedes Railway in southern Angola.

The report says China Railway 20 Bureau Group Co. Ltd will be paid US$55 million to rehabilitate the Benguela Railway.

China Railway International Group Co. Ltd will be paid US$42.9 million to rehabilitate the Luanda Railway, Lusa says.
