A group of Chinese health professionals has concluded a two-year mission to Mozambique, Xinhua reports.
The Chinese government-run news agency quotes the leader of the mission, Chen Liping, as saying his party worked closely with Mozambican doctors to improve the management of hospitals and the quality of the care they give.
The report says the Chinese party performed 2,024 surgical operations, attended to 118 emergency cases, treated nearly 10,000 patients with acupuncture and gave instruction to Mozambican health professionals.
The Chinese medical mission to Mozambique was the 21st since such missions began, in 1976, Xinhua says.
