International aspect of Jiangsu-Macao project emphasised

Governor Wu Zhenglong of the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu has said one of the purposes of the future Jiangsu-Macao Co-operation Park is to undertake projects jointly backed by China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries, the Macao SAR Government says.

A written statement issued by the government quotes Mr Wu as saying so to Macao Chief Executive Chui Sai On when Mr Chui visited the provincial capital, Nanjing.

Mr Chui was in Jiangsu for two days to look for a suitable site for the Jiangsu-Macao Co-operation Park and for talks with provincial officials about developing it.

Mr Chui said Premier Li Keqiang had told him in Beijing last year about the desirability of the park forging links with the lusophone world, according to the Macao SAR Government statement.
