Official hoping for more Hunan exchanges with Timor-Leste

An official of the Chinese Communist Party in the southern Chinese province of Hunan has said more exchanges between the people of the province and the people of Timor-Leste are desirable to strengthen the relationship between the two places, the Hunan Daily reports.

The newspaper quotes Hunan Party Deputy Secretary Ulan, who goes by a single name, as saying so to Isabel da Costa Ferreira, wife of Timor-Leste Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak, when Ms Ferreira visited the provincial capital, Changsha.

Ms Ulan said the Hunan government would keep backing a marine aquaculture project in Timor-Leste undertaken by Yuan Long Ping High-Tech Agriculture Co. Ltd of Hunan so it could set an example for co-operation.

Timor-Leste is grateful for the support given by Hunan, and hopeful that more Sino-Timor-Leste co-operation will help the country develop economically and socially, the Hunan Daily quotes Ms Ferreira as saying.
